Check Processing Employment Scam Letter

from: Dr. L.W. Johnson ( Director Accounting Department )

NOTE: "Dr. L.W. Johnson" is not the real name of the scammer

Letter Source:  You would think, after reading the letter below and checking out the web site, that this letter came from China.  Actually, it was from West Africa (+0200 Time Zone)  using the IP address of a US company.  This is called "an attempted misdirection."

The registration for the web site is under the company name listed below.  In fact, the registration does not have any of the red flags associated with a false registration, and the same information is listed on both the registration and their site.  BUT, their web site says nothing about any agency and their email address is not cmiecagency@nestcape, as stated below.  This tells me that China Metallurgic may know nothing about this letter or the scam.  For your information, referring to existing innocent web sites and using mirror sites is a popular ploy among all the scammers in Nigerian/Romanian-style scams.
