A federal grand jury has indicted a Tiburon couple on charges they bilked $18 million from investment schemes involving a bogus diamond deal and a Chinese telecommunications company, prosecutors said Monday.

Grand jury indicts Plano man with mail fraud and making false statements in used car sales

 

 

Federal authorities have issued arrest warrants for Rebecca and Terry Solomon, who were the proprietors of the Solomon Investment Group Inc. and a jewelry brokerage called Kristoffer International Inc. The Solomons ran their businesses from their rented mansion at 185 Gilmartin Drive in Tiburon, which was raided by the FBI last April.

Prosecutors said the Solomons solicited millions of dollars from investors but, instead of investing the funds, the couple spent most of it on vacations, luxury vehicles and self-promotion.

Some investors were culled from the congregation of the Solomons' church, St. Hilary's in Tiburon. One member said Rebecca Solomon stood up at a church event and publicly donated $2 million to the church, but later her check bounced. The church did not make any plans for the money before the check was rejected. ...
